I have a slight obsession with watches and recently I finally found the perfect way to store my collection! I was looking for something compact as my watch boxes are quite large and wooden. Also, I was set on getting a box as opposed to an open jewelry display in order to keep my watches from getting dusty.
I got these watch boxes from Bed Bath and Beyond for $30 each. They are a gold metallic faux leather and each box holds four watches. The boxes stack nicely in my drawer and I like that there is a small window to see which watches are in which box.
Now onto my watch collection...
Marc by Marc Jacobs "Henry Dinky Bracelet Watch"
This watch is the perfect tone of gold for my skin tone, as most gold watches are far too yellow and shiny for me. It's a smaller, more delicate watch and I like the simple champagne face to it.
Kate Spade New York "Gramercy Two Tone Bracelet Watch"
I love the two tone look with this watch. It's the perfect shades of silver and gold with the beautiful mother of pearl face. I prefer the Gramercy sized faces as opposed to the Gramercy Grand because I find them to be overwhelmingly large on my wrist.
Guess
This watch is where my collection began back in 2006! It's a simple silver watch with little crystals around the face. Considering I got it over 8 years and still wear it, means it was a good classic investment piece. Also, I am very impressed that despite the countless times I've dropped this watch, I've still yet to have any problems with it mechanically!
Michael Kors: Rose Gold Macy's Exclusive (can't find online any longer)
This was the second watch in my collection and I got it at the Macy's in Manhattan. It is a rose gold watch that is more on the brassy side than rose. I fell in love with the face of this watch as it has a crystal dial as well as the iridescent brown pearly face. Also, with it being a Macy's exclusive, I liked that it would be less common than many of the other Michael Kors watches.
Michael Kors: Acrylic Tortoiseshell Bracelet Watch
(the watch comes in two sizes, - mine is the smaller of the two but I can only find a link to the larger one - 38mm)

Then I have my tortoiseshell watch. I really like the size of this one as well as the colour of the tortoise. I also really like the crystal dial in the face as well the 3 dials which tell you the day of the week, the day of the month, and 24 hour time. The face is nicely bordered with a dimpled gold plate. Plus, this watch was a total bargain! I found it at a watch outlet for around $150 and they were having an addition 15% sale too!
My Tips for Buying Watches:
1. Always try them on first! There have been so many watches I've seen and loved online but when trying them on in store - I can't stand them on my wrist!
2. Never pay full price for a watch. I always wait for there to be a watch sale whether it be during a watch event, designer sale, cyber monday, student discount etc.
3. Pull the pin out on your watches if it's just sitting in your drawer for weeks at a time. This trick will help save the battery life in the watches.
How do you store your watches and what watch is on your shopping wish list?
